Dr Kovtun is a board certified cardiothoracic surgeon. During the last 10 years the field of his interests is adult and pediatric cardiac surgery.

He operates all spectrum of cardiac pathology including simultaneous operations as CABG with valve replacement or repair. His activity spreads also to left ventricle restoration procedure, heart failure and heart transplantation. 

Dr. Kovtun was involved into big training programe in hospitals of Germany, Poland, and Russia. He is author more than 40 manuscripts.Professional membership – Association for Cardio-vascular Surgeon of Ukraine, Association of transplantology.

 In Dr Kovtun’s department are performed such operations as CABG, valve and double valve replacement, valve repair, Batista operation and other.
